Virtua Cop 3 WORKING on 128MB Xbox

Progress history regarding Virtua Cop 3:

UPDATE 1: Garcimak confirmed that VC3 works without freezing in 128mb Xbox!

You can see this is awful to play without light gun...

UPDATE 6: For some people VC3 runs out of the box on 128MB Xbox, but for most who've tried (including me) "simple" workaround is still needed:

1. Launch MameOx emulator
2. IGR back to dashboard
3. Launch vc3.xbe

I forgot who figured this out, but it works. MameOx somehow correctly sets the Xbox in 128MB mode and allows VC3 to run. And it seems to be only Chihi game which plays and it does it flawlessly..

Now it's just matter of someone to look what is so special in MameOx source and reproduce that to its own default.xbe and then make it launch vc3.xbe automatically.

Woaw ... incredible to see that ... maybe it is possible to fix it to never crash with 64 Mo ?

Virtual Memory in a game that was edited at the hex level is beyond the scope of most devs that aren't professionals (and surely even then, it's a BITCH)... but it would be more than amazing to see it happen. I'm more curious of the games that ran with the 64mb and can be converted, as it might open a good number of options to add to your X-Box library, and aid in the evolution of the Chihiro and X-Box emulation.

i can tell you that crazy taxi 3 is the only game that used 64mb of ram on the arcade board all the rest used a lot more. as far as i am aware the the arcade could support up to 512mb.
outrun 2 sp for example used 512mb.

Yes ... i dream one day we can emulate an xbox on PC :D
Like that i can use all my emulation stuff on a PC with a virtual xbox with 128 or more ram lol
And use a real XBMC to read 1080p HD films :p

But i dream ... snif ... :(

It is why maybe the x360 is a solution ... if one day all the xbox stuf running 100% on it !!!
Yesterday they publisht around the web a new solution to make JTAG x360 ... it is a really good news :D

Great!! Do you mean you tried it yourself?

If it works, natural next step would be try it with Xbox light gun. It's definitely worth a try, as we seem to have good luck in this :)

I have a gun Frank that's why im dissapointed it won't work on a standard Xbox.
Even thought about downsampling the video's and audio to give it a try but i fear this won't help at all. I love lightgun games, my favourites.
