Ok been looking at getting a DreamCast SD Card Reader.
I know the games play back rubbish in most cases but what i want it for is for my saves.
Does anyone know if the SD card addon allows retail or cdi games to read from SD Card saves or just VMU saves.

I would assume no, but you could transfer them in the BIOS and then use them.

Yeah, I think the SD adapter for that system is best used for homebrew. No more wasted discs, or destroying the laser assembly/motor with disc searching...

I asked about that on some forum a while back and everyone was telling me gameplay runs fine and that only FMV sequences will slow down a bit. I have still yet to grab an adapter and test it though.

Cool to hear that some of you are into the dreamcast. It was my first system for homebrew/emulation gaming.

I'm a big dreamcast fan too. Unfortunately it's been ages since I've messed with it.

It was an interesting machine that kinda ended up smack dab in the middle when it came to what it was capable of. A shame it's lifetime was short cause maybe then programmers would have come up with a better way to get some really good framerates out of it.

Anywho... I vote for a dreamcast synopsis! :P
